Course Information
Description Study of basic concepts and operations involved in computations, ratios, proportions, percents, charts and graphs, simple geometry, rational numbers, exponents and scientific notation.
Prerequisites None
Learning Outcomes The course supports students in developing skills, strategies, and reasoning needed to succeed in
mathematics, including communication and appropriate use of technology. Topics include the study of numeracy and the real number system; algebraic concepts, notation, and reasoning; quantitative
relationships; mathematical models; and problem solving.
Core Objectives * Empirical and Quantitative Skills: Students will demonstrate applications of scientific and mathematical concepts.
* Personal Responsibility: Students will demonstrate the ability to connect choices, actions and consequences to ethical decision-making.

Attendance Policy Students will have no more than three absences.
